About Paxos

The capital of Paxos, and capitals surely don’t come much prettier, Gaois lies to the south east of the island and is also home to Gaios New Port where incoming hydrofoils, ferries and sea taxis dock. Gaios, like Lakka and Loggos, snakes around the harbour walls with fishing boats and yachts jostling for space in this wonderful setting. Gaios is home to popular, family restaurants and bars plus having the island’s main bank, pharmacy, ATM machines and other facilities. Guests staying in or near Gaios have lovely easy access to the southern beaches and coast including lovely Monodendri.

Heavenly Lakka on the east coast of Paxos is picturesque to its core. This charming sea-side village has wonderful bars and restaurants tumbled along its harbour walls making the most of the blue, blue sea, the blue, blue sky and the endlessly bobbing boats. The village has the wonderful bakery and is an easy walk to lovely local beaches. Popular, as all 3 villages on Paxos are, with the yachting crowd.

Gorgeous Longos on the northeast coast of Paxos is picturesque to its core.

Wonderful Mongonissi islet lies on the southern part of Paxos with amazing views over to Anti-Paxos. Under 4km from Gaios, guests staying around and above the bay have access to both wonderful nearby beaches and other bays, best explored by boat, and to all the delights of  Paxos’ main harbour village.
